Are you tired of colleges / universities?

Are you tired of the modern education being offered at colleges and universities? Students are paying more than ever for higher education. At the same time, job prospects after post secondary education are difficult to secure. In fact, students are expected to have high levels of experience coming out of school for entry level positions.

It's time you realize what colleges and universities don't want you to know. First realization: the internet has made knowledge so accessible and has brought the worlds libraries to your finger tips. Colleges were relevant in the past because books and the information contained in these books were only accessible at these institutions. Second realization: there is a pressure to attend college because that's what good students do after completing high school. This idea is strong in our culture and results in a negative image being associated with people who forego college to pursue other passions. Lastly, colleges and universities stifle creativity. They box students into majors and degrees instead of challenging students to solve problems and promoting innovation.

My advice is to think twice before enrolling in college. Don't go to college because it's what everyone expects you to do. Don't go to college because you believe it's a sure fire path to finding a career you enjoy. Don't go to college for the wrong reasons. What, you may ask, are the right reasons for going to college? That is an excellent question to ask yourself.
